Redfish, Trout, and Thrills: An Epic Inshore Fishing Adventure

What a morning we had out on the water at Pompano Park in South Padre Island, TX! April is a prime time for inshore fishing around South Padre Island, with the warming waters bringing the Redfish and Spotted Seatrout closer to the shallows. We had partly cloudy skies and great water conditions, perfect for targeting these exciting species with a variety of techniques like poppong cork, jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing. Our guest, Jacob Garza, was eager to get after some big inshore gamefish, and that's exactly what we did.

It didn't take long for the action to heat up. We started off working some deeper structure with live bait, and Jacob hooked into a feisty Redfish that had him battling for a good while before we got it in the boat. The fish put on an incredible aerial display, thrashing on the surface. Not long after, he followed that up with a nice Spotted Seatrout, adding some variety to the day's catch. We kept moving around, using different presentations to target the fish, and the steady bite just kept coming. In between catching fish, we took in the sights of the South Padre coastline and enjoyed the beautiful morning out on the water.

By the time we called it a day, Jacob had a great mix of Redfish and Spotted Seatrout to take home, not to mention some fantastic memories from an epic inshore fishing trip.
